Each year, we recognize the individuals and companies that make the Athens Area HBA what it is today. 

The Dan Saye Builder of the Year

The Dan Saye Builder of the Year award is named after one of Athens’s largest builders- the builder who designed and built Beechwood. Mr. Saye was a longtime supporter of the Athens Area HBA. A past president of the Athens Area HBA and also the Home Builders Association of Georgia, it is an honor that we are able to recognize builders who have followed in Mr. Saye’s footsteps making the Athens Area HBA and our community what it is today.

The Henry E. Wages Associate of the Year Award

Henry E. Wages was a long-time member of the Athens Area HAB. He was the owner of an HBAC company that was located near the Athens Ben-Epps Airport. Mr. Wages was a loyal supporter of the Athens Area HBA for many years. Since his death many years ago, we have shown our appreciation for many years by honoring those who have followed in the steps of Henry E. Wages of being an advocate and loyal support of the Athens Area HBA. 

Sub-Contractor of the Year

The Sub Contractor of the Year Award is presented to a COMPANY that provides excellent products and services to our members and community.

Professional of the Year

The Professional of the Year Award was established to recognize an Associate Member in a professional field who is dedicated to serving our Association and the home building industry.
